For several years in a row I have been an official blog partner for the Newport 10K in May and the Newport Liberty Half in September. They’re races that I look forward to doing every year. These are the race reports of when I participated as an official entrant, both as paid and as sponsored. The year 2012 was the first time I ran the Newport Liberty Half and I broke 2 hours for the first time.
I spectated in 2013 and 2014. As you can see, I haven’t missed one since 2012, but this streak will come to an end. This year I, unfortunately, have to miss out on the Newport Liberty Half because Ben is doing an Ironman 70.3 that day in Atlantic City.
My loss is potentially your gain! Instead of me taking the entry for myself, I will be doing a giveaway on Rafflecopter.
Why should you enter? Well, Newport Liberty Half is a great half early half marathon. I’ve generally used it as a training run for a later fall goal half or for fall marathon. The course is flat and fast with a beautiful second half that goes into Liberty State Park and the Newport waterfront boardwalk. The post-race food includes free beer and there are many great places nearby for brunch.
