Why I run the Newport Liberty Half

newlib

Newport Liberty Half

I’ve been running regularly now for four years. I’ve gone from a 10 min-miler to a mile PR of 6:37. I’ve raced countless 5Ks and half marathons and everything in between and even a marathon. I’ve completed races all over the US, from California to Maine to Florida. I’ve ran internationally when I logged miles in Iceland, Croatia, Turks & Caicos, and Kenya. Every year running takes me to different places and races. I never quite know where I’ll go or how many miles I’ll run that year, but the one thing that I do know is that the Newport Liberty Half will be a part of my running adventure every year.

I have been asked again to be an official blog partner for the Newport Liberty Half. As a blog partner, I’ll be writing about preparing for this half marathon in the weeks ahead and then blogging about the race experience in exchange for a free race entry. My opinions are my own. I participated both as an official blogger and as a regular paid participant. You can see my race posts below.

  1. See you there!
This will be my 7th Newport Half. Ran the first one back in ’08, skipped 2012-2014 on account of injuries, and last year led an unofficial 1:40 pace group. So happy to finally run it competitively again.I just hope the weather cooperates. It’s always a crapshoot, because it’s in September.
    Is Ben running it too?
