Sept 21st will be the 21st annual Newport Liberty Half Marathon in New Jersey City. It’s a great local half marathon in the NYC metropolitan area, easily accessible from New York City via the PATH train. Come to Jersey City to get the best views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty from Liberty State Park and the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway.
Ben and I, along with our running club members, participate in the Newport Liberty Half Marathon in some way every year. If you’re looking for an early fall half in the NYC area, this is a fantastic one to do. And if you’re super speedy, you can complete for a share of the $3000 in prize money.
Afterward there will be a post-race party with refreshments, music, and several prize drawings. All proceeds will be donated to the Jersey City Medical Center.

I’m racing this!! 🙂 Looking forward to it, this will be only my second half marathon!
Cool!!!! The first part isn’t too picturesque but you can’t beat the views once you’re in the park and by the waterfront. It’s flat and PR friendly. Good luck!!!!!
Awesome, thank you!!! 🙂
