I’m in Cusco right now. Tomorrow we’ll be starting our weeklong trek to Salkantay and Machu Picchu. Altitude sickness is no joke. Having a wonderful time despite it.
It is indeed gorgeous. I can’t believe that I’m here.
Had my first taste of altitude sickness in Cusco. It improved as I went down to Machu Picchu, about 3,000 feet less in altitude. Take care. It can be dangerous. Have a great trek.
We started at Lake Titicaca which is much higher than Cusco. The sickness comes and goes. I feel better now, but I’m a bit worried about when we go up to Salkantay, which will be our highest elevation. I’m prepared with meds.
Enjoy!!!! ANd make sure you drink enough water ❤ xoxo
Thanks! Hydration is a must.
Looks gorgeous! Enjoy and hope you feel better! I got altitude sickness on Mt. Kilimanjaro. It’s no joke!
I recovered after a few days. I had an incredible experience. It’ll be hard to top this trip.
Looking forward to catching up on blogs and seeing what you’ve been doing in Italy.
GORGEOUS photo and I hope you feel better!!
Isn’t it? It was fantastic. I recovered from altitude sickness after a few days. Enjoyed my trip immensely. I love Peru.
