Not too Shabby! Shabby Apple’s Full Steam Ahead Dress

20121118-152037.jpgGuess what finally arrived! My other birthday present from Ben – this gorgeous dress (Full Steam Ahead from the All Aboard Collection) from Shabby Apple.

Ben was really sweet and asked me what I wanted for my birthday present. I wasn’t really sure because I didn’t have anything in particular that I wanted. My birthday came and went in October and his offer has hanging in the air. Then Shabby Apple began advertising their new fall/winter collection. When I saw the red wool dress, it was love at first sight. It was absolutely perfect to wear to work and to after work functions. I can even dress it up to wear out to dinner. The warm wool material keeps toasty and cozy when I’m out in the nippy cold air, but the short sleeves ensure that I don’t overheat when I’m indoors. The lovely bow detail around my neck adds a visual interest, while the rest of the dress kept simple and clean. In short, it’s the perfect winter dress. I love the color because there’s a tendency to wear dark colors in the winter and that can get overwhelmingly boring and dark. I’m guilty of it myself because my favorite winter neutral color is gray.

20121118-152029.jpgI got the dress is size 6 and it fits perfectly! It hugs and slims my waist, while skimming off my hips. I’m only 5’4″, so the dress ends just below my knee caps.It is meant to be form fitting, so do make sure to look at the measurements carefully before you order.

I absolutely adore Shabby Apple. Their clothes are beautiful, well-made, and reasonably priced. It’s been one of my favorite online boutiques for many boutiques and I’m sure that I’ll buy many more pieces from them in the future.

  1. Very cute! I wear Patagonia dresses for the very same reason. But I just looked at Shabby Apple–good tip. And Happy Birthday!
